I know, I know… it's been a while. But I warned you, this is an intermittent newsletter. Anyway, 🍾 to the new year. Here's what I've been writing and thinking about lately.
I get asked this question a lot, so I thought it was high time I answered it.
I dig into a few of the reasons why you should learn email marketing over on my blog. I'll be addressing the issue of whether or not it's a viable career option in a second post.
I read 80 books this year. My favorite was definitely Life in Code by Ellen Ullman but I went ahead and rounded up all of them for you, noting my favs on a monthly basis. Check out the post here.
As part of a redesign, Eric Meyer wrote up some great tips on increasing accessibility. I immediately put most of them to work on my own website.
Eric Karjaluoto made a compelling argument for the need for all kinds of businesses, not just the world-changing ones. Good advice and a needed message for a lot of folks that feel like what they do doesn't matter.
Finally, Joel Califa asks designers an absolutely vital question (and one I've been thinking about a lot lately): Are we the baddies?
Strong reactions to any of the above? Want to chat about the web, email, or anything else? Email me and let me know. I promise I'll reply as soon as I can.
